Disney World 50th Anniversary a Testament to DreamsOct 11, 2021
October 1st marked the 50th anniversary for the opening of the Magic Kingdom as the first resort in Disney World.
Disney World, especially EPCOT, drove Walt Disney during the last months of his life.
The man who said "It's kind of fun to do the impossible", envisioned turning a swamp into his "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" (EPCOT).
He placed a map of EPCOT on the ceiling of his hospital room to continue working on it.
The corporation that bore his name could not complete Walt's dream, but based on his vision they created the largest destination theme resort in the world.
While he didn't know about our model, he followed our model clearly. He--and his successors:
GENERATED POSSIBILITIES by researching several locations, imagined an improved Disneyland and a completely new community of tomorrow.
OPTIMIZED CONNECTIONS with artists, architects, Imagineers, a retired admiral and a retired general, and water expert to drain the swamp.
ACTED CONSISTENTLY to purchase the land anonymously, clear legal regulations, push construction, and expand the vision
LABELED LIMITATIONS including the scope of the project (desired limitations). Overcome the real limitations of money, time, space, and swamp. Dealt with the windmills (undesired false limitations appearing real).
SYNERGIZED PURPOSEFULLY with regular meetings with his team and expanding idea upon idea.
You may not dream as big as Walt Disney, but you can let your dreams work. We encourage you to do so.
